We left Grand Lake this morning around 11 a.m. We were headed for WY via the Rocky Mountain National Park. We had no idea what we were in for...this place was just beautiful. It took us about 3 hours to get through the park. While driving through we saw a herd of elk in a field and later on some mountain sheep along then out of nowhere another elk was at a major intersection while we were going through town. He was so huge I downloaded pictures of him crossing the intersection just so you know it wasn't fake! We also drove through the Roosevelt National Park which was also very beautiful...WOW there are no words to describe what we saw today.
We are now in Cheyenne, WY.
This route is no doubt the most beautiful road we have ever been on !!
We also added the pictures of the forest fire in Colorado Springs this evening.
Bob needs to get off his duff and write up the stories.
